Tullamore Dew Original Triple Distilled Irish Whisky [1000ML]

Tullamore Dew is a brand of Irish whiskey produced by William Grants & Sons. It is the second largest selling brand of Irish whiskey globally. Old Tullamore Distillery was established in 1829 in Tullamore, County Offaly, Ireland. The Distillery was founded by Michael Molloy and following his death, the Distillery was acquired by the Daly Family. The brand name is derived from the initials of Daniel E. William (D.E.W), a general manager at the time and later owner of the original distillery. The Old Distillery expanded and prospered thanks to Daniel E. William and hence was given the initial stamped into the bottle labelling.

The original Tullamore Distillery was closed down in 1954, when sales were declining due to a number of factors such as the Prohibition, the Anglo-Irish Trade war and high taxes on whiskey introduced by the Irish Free State. The brand was purchased by William Grants & Sons in 2010 and a new distillery was constructed in the outskirts of Tullamore. The new distillery opened its door in 2014 and brought production of whisky back to the town after 60 years. In 2012, a visitor centre was opened in a refurbished bonded warehouse belonging to the original distillery.

Tullamore D.E.W is a triple blend Irish whiskey known for its smooth and gentle complexity of flavours. The triple blend is a combination of single malt, grain and pot still whiskey. Bottled at the standard 40% ABV.

Medium Amber Gold. This unique colouration comes from the aging in combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks.

Aromatic malty sweetness of honey, apples, dried fruits with hint of toffee.

Abundant but mild earthy malty tone with sweet honey, apples, toffee and hint of cinnamon.

Medium malty finish with notes of spice and malt.
