Description
<p>Talisker Distiller was founded by a pair of brothers, Hugh and Kenneth MacAskill, in the year 1830. The distillery produces Island single malt Scotch whisky and is located in Carbost, Scotland on the Isle of Skye.</p>
<p>Talisker distillery mainly uses American oak casks to mature their whisky. Their water source comes from Cnoc nan Speireag, Hawk Hill, a spring directly above the distiller. The malted barley used in production comes from Muir of Ord. Talisker brand and distillery has been owned by Diageo since 1997.</p>
<p>Produced at the oldest distillery on the Isle of Skye, Talisker Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been made by the sea since 1830, with its smell and taste instantly connecting you to its rugged maritime home.</p>
<p>Talisker 18 Years is an Island single malt Scotch whisky masterpiece from one of Scotland’s greatest distilleries and was named ‘Best Single Malt Whisky in the World’ at the World Whiskies Awards in 2007. American ex-bourbon and sherry casks are used to mature this expression and are bottled at 45.8% ABV.</p>

<p>Amber. The colour from this expression is due to the use of American ex-bourbon and sherry casks for the maturation of a minimum of 18 years.</p>
<p><strong>TO THE NOSE</strong></p>
<p>Rich and fruity, with plums, orange peel and toffee. The gentle smokiness and seaside character.</p>
<p><strong>TO THE PALATE</strong></p>
<p>Sweet to start with toffee and fruit leading to darker, smokier notes.</p>
<p><strong>TO THE END</strong></p>
<p>Long and smoky, with a hint of chilli spice and oak.</p>
